The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved a settlement Wednesday 7/25/2007 to allow PPL Electric Utilities to raise distribution rates for Residential customers and to lower rates for commercial and industrial users.
The new rates will go into effect Aug 1st. The average residential customer's bill will increase 3.8 percent from$96.52 to $100.20.
Industrial and commercial customer's will drop between 2 percent to 5 percent. PPL serves about 8,000 customers in York County, PA.
PPL expects rate hikes of about 30% by Dec 31, 2009, while Met-Ed serves about 190,000 customers in York County, PA. gets increases by Dec 31, 2010. Your area could be different.
